Elvis Birthday
Well it is Elvis’ 30th anniversary and all I can say is whilst I am watching the new is thank God I’ve got a life!!! I am glad when people have hobbies and collect things - but that is going way too far. Fancy living like another man is a god. Worshipping every photo, guitar and even collecting the grass out of the garden where he used to live!
As a kid I used to spend many Saturday mornings watching the old Elvis films. I used to love them. He was very cute and good looking, but his fame and ended up revealing his fallibility. He was a gifted singer, a tallented performer but he was still a man. Fame and fortune brought him misery and death.
Here is a clip of Elvis for those who haven’t understood what the fuss is about. His official web site is worth a visit too.

Are they having us on????
A £110,000 government inquiry has made the discovery that passengers on amusement parks often wave their hands in the air. The 140- page study, carried out by the Health and Safety Executive, also found that children like to wave to their parents from carousels. “The most commonly observed behaviour,” it says “was one and two-handed waving, turning of the head/trunk and pointing.”
PS that is Trev upside-down in the picture!!

EXPLANATION OF GOD
This ONE IS FABULOUS!!! It was written by 8 year old for his third grade homework assignment. The assignment was to explain God.
EXPLANATION OF GOD
“One of God’s main jobs is making people. He makes them to replace the
ones that die, so there will be enough people to take care of things on
earth. He doesn’t make grownups, just babies. I think because they are
smaller and easier to make. That way he doesn’t have to take up his
valuable time teaching them to talk and walk He can just leave that to
mothers and fathers.”
God’s second most important job is listening to prayers. An awful lot
of this goes on, since some people, like preachers and things, pray at
times beside bedtime. God doesn’t have time to listen to the radio or
TV because of this. Because he hears everything, there must be a
terrible lot of noise in his ears, unless he has thought of a way to turn it off. (more…)

I have been on holiday for a week. I tried to send a post about the fact that we were going but the internet wasn’t working. I am back now though. Sorry about that.

Cool Verses - testing
But he knows the way that I take. (He has concern for it, appreciates it and pays attention to it). When He has tried me, I shall come forth as refined gold (pure and luminous). Job 23:10
I have been thinking a lot recently about the benifits of testing. Not Maths or English tests but when God allows situations to occur or things to happen to us that we find challenging. They show what is really in our hearts and reveal the depth of our faith and trust in God.
Here is one benefit of testing - you will come forth as gold. This kind of gold will never tarnish or be destroyed. It is treasure for you, in you, the kind of which you can take with you when you die. This kind of gold is priceless and can not be bought.

Rick Warren’s Testimony
Rick Warren (REMEMBER HE WROTE-PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE)Â
You will enjoy the new insights that Rick Warren has, with his wife now having cancer and him having “wealth” from the book sales. This is an absolutely incredible short interview with Rick Warren, “Purpose Driven Life ” author and pastor of Saddleback Church in California. In the interview by Paul Bradshaw with Rick Warren, Rick said:Â
Â
People ask me, What is the purpose of life? And I respond: In a nutshell, life is preparation for eternity. We were made to last forever, and God wants us to be with Him in Heaven.Â
Â
One day my heart is going to stop, and that will be the end of my body– but not the end of me.Â
Â
I may live 60 to 100 years on earth, but I am going to spend trillions of years in eternity. This is the warm-up act - the dress rehearsal. God wants us to practice on earth what we will do forever in eternity.Â
Â
We were made by God and for God, and until you figure that out, life isn’t going to make sense.Â

Cool Verses
Seek the Lord and his strength, yearn for and seek His face and to be in his presence continually. 1 Chronicles 16:11 (Amp)
It is a bit like having a crush on someone. You know wanting to be with them all the time. Doting on their every word, the little things that make you like them. God says he wants us to desire him that passionately. To not be content when we have a great praise session and think that will last us for a couple of weeks, but to go home wanting his friendship, to go to sleep in his presence, to wake up with him with you and to go to school with his heart close to yours. We are to seek his face, to always want to look at him. Now God doesn’t produce a poster of himself we can gaze on. He knows that if we had a picture of who he was we would end up worshiping the picture and not him. Oh how he wants us to want him. To desire gazing on his face, to be captured with his beauty. This is true intimacy and love of an inexpressable delight.
