Elders and Wives Weekend

I have just come back from the elders and wives weekend in Cardiff. I will have more time to write this week about it all.

Let me leave you with this thought:

dog-ear-tinternet.jpgGOD wants us to hear what he is saying. He gets excited when he sees us listening and doing what he asks. Every single time that happens, however small, he knows he is one step nearer to seeing his SON return to claim his bride and all his plans come together.

He is not going to put a blockage in the way or whisper so quietly you can not hear him.

Are they having us on —again??

upsidedown-on-ride-at-camolot.JPGA £110,000 government inquiry has made the discovery that passengers on an amusement park rides often wave their hands in the air. The 140 page study carried out by the Health and Safety Executive, also found that children like to wave to their parents from courousels. “The most commonly observed behaviour,” it says “was one and two-handed waving, turning of the head/trunk and pointing.”                                           (taken from the Week magazine)

I am sorry but if any report need doing that involves going to the amusement park and going on the rides I know of a great group of teens that would enjoy it twice as much as  the Health and Safey officers!!!

A Faithful God

I would like to give a personal testimony of things that have happened to me a couple of weeks ago. My dad found that he had an aortic aneurism (a vericous vein from your heart). If they burst your time is up. A normal aorta is 2.5cm wide, a distorted one is 5cm, my dads was nearly 10cm. His operation was pushed nearly a month forward because of the severity of his case. This is blessing number one because my sister is leaving for Ghana in a few weeks and it was looking likely she would not be here when the operation took place. Blessing number two is the fact that up to the week of the operation I had been in great pain in my hips and legs and the doctor said it would take months to see the physio. Well less than two weeks later I have  already been treated and there is enough improvement in my leg to enable me to drive down to stay with my mum during and after the operation. Blessing number three is the fact that the surgeon happened to be a Christian from a great church and prayed with dad before he was anethetised. Blessing number four is the fact that while they were operating on him they found two more aneurisms one 6cm and another 4cm and the operation is a success. Blessing number five is that my dad has managed to stay alive with three aneurisms which have all been found out ‘by accident’. Blessing number six is that my dad returns home within a week and a half and is doing great!!!

When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Refrain

Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will keep singing as the days go by.

Refrain

When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings. Wealth can never buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.

Refrain

So, amid the conflict whether great or small,
Do not be disheartened, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.

If you want to do the impossible see the invisible

arne_skagen_150.jpgWe have just had a fantastic week with Arne Skagen from Norway. He is a great man of God. He not only had some fantastic stories to tell but he showed us by his life example how we can live a life of adventure in God. This life lived by the Spirit and obedience to God means that you never know what you will end up doing today or tommorrow. You don’t know whose life you will transform and whose heart you will open by obediently speaking into peoples lives God words and doing God things. It may at times be scary but who ever heard of a great and exciting roller coaster ride that didn’t scare you at some point. Lets laugh, scream put our hands in the air and start this adventure.
