Are They Off Their Heads?

You know some people call me mad. Others say that the youth of today are off their heads. But I think it is the parents that are the ones going crazy!!!

A New Zealand a girls parents actually called their baby daughter “Talula Does the Hula from Huwaii”. They didn’t just use it as a nick name - it was her official registered name. Great name eh? Imagine writing that on the top of your examine papers - you’d use nearly all your examination time just writing that! Or imagine her wedding day - how would you keep the congregation from not laughing the whole way through the marriage vows?

There seems to be a craze at the minute by mad parents to find the most stupid name possible. How about Violence, Midnight Chardonnay, Number 16 Bus Shelter and, for a pair of twins, Benson and Hedges. And you thought your name was bad!!!!

I know of a Holly Wood - got any more crazy names?

He makes the blind to see!!!!

twms-looking-eye.jpgI was on the phone to my mum last night and she told me the most amazing testimony of a friend of mine from my home town Bedford. I so want to shout it loud from the rooftops!!!!!

This friend of mine (in her 30’s) had an accident over 5 years ago and hit her head hard. In doing so she permanently damaged the back of her eyes. On closer examiniation they discovered that she had retina conic distrophy. This condition is degenerative (means it progressively gets worse over time and there is no cure). When she went to the opticians for her last eye test at Moorlands Eye Hospital in London she either couldn’t see the board or just make out the largest letter if the chart was held at her arms length - she had less than 6% sight and this was decreasing. The opticians suggested that she register as a blind person in order to get help, but she felt that she wasn’t going to accept it in her life and that God wanted better for her. Even jobs like finding money in her purse and walking outside were extreemly difficult. She had a white stick but life was still very hazzardous.

Two weeks ago at the baptist church she goes to they were someone talking on the story of Jesus putting mud on the blind mans eyes and he sees (have a read it is a great story -  you can find in John 9). A couple of people felt God put it on their heart to pray for my friend (one was my mum!). They waited until the end of the service and put mud on her eyes and prayed for her healing.

This last week she has been back to the opticians. She read 6 lines down the board of letters that were on the chart! She had her eyes examined and they have told her that her retina is healthy and well.

And you’ll never guess what!! She has been reading, doing cross stitch, going on the bus and finding her own change and managing to walk around without her white stick!!! She still at the moment wears glasses - but what a transformation!!!! Her life has totally changed.

He is still in the business of making the blind to see!! What a powerful and loving God.

God is bigger than my school friends

I would like to share you a testimony of a girl from Huddersfield sent me at the end of the last school year

j0399888.jpg‘I have just had a really bad time at school. As my friends started smoking and getting drunk all the time I decided to leave them, so I did. This left me me with nothing. i had no friends at school. I was gettin bullied by the ex-friends because I had left the group. but I stayed strong. I prayed to God and asked for a new set of friends at school.

The next day I went in these girls came up to me and said “Do you wanna hang round with us?” But that’s not all. The girls that I had fallen out with came up to me and said, “We are sorry we won’t be nasty anymore because you have made us realise what we were doing was wrong and we are quitting smoking and stopping the drink.” God is a great God!!!

Who am I?

This is my favourite song at the minute. I am hoping to buy the album this week - it is called Casting Crowns.

This is a great alternative version to this song. It is the same song but mimed out with glowing hands. It is incredibly clever but I spend so much time watching the hands that I cannot concentrate on the song!!! - click here

This is the version we showed at the youth Now Faith…
