What a tragedy!!
The world’s longest fingernails have met with a tragic end!! Lee Redmond who is 67 has been growing her talons since 1979. They are in the Guiness Book of records being 33in and she once turned down an offer of $10,000 to trim then on Japenese TV. Unfortuately last week she was involved in a pile up in Salt Lake City and whilst she had no serious injury every single nail broke.
Just imagine all the things she couldn’t do in the sacrifice of growing those!! Try get them in a pair of gloves to go and build snowmen, or ice skate, go-karting or horse riding, how did she wash her hair or stroke a cat? Now all she has built has ended in a tragic accident. It is a good job that all we are building will last for eternity. All our treasure is where rust and moths cannot destroy it, where car crashes can not break it!!

All is Well with My Body
I would like to give a testimony of what happened to me on Sunday. I arrived to meet with God’s people sneezing, my throat sore, my legs aching and wobbly and with a temperature. I am fully persuaded though that a sacrifice of praise should be brought to God no matter how I feel inside and no matter how I feel on the outside - so I danced with all the energy I could muster. A prophecy came that people would be healed through their dancing and I cried out inside MEEE let that be MEEE, so I carried on dancing. By the end of the morning I felt fine, all my symptoms had gone and I had loads of energy.
I am fully persuaded that when we join in the heavenly party of praise before the throne sickness has to run away. it just can not stand still in the awesome presence of such a powerful God. Jesus beat sickness fair and square and sickness can not stand it - it has to cower as the defeated enemy.
Just as all is well with your soul in the care of Jesus, so all is well with your body.

It is Well With my Soul
I just can’t get this song out of my head. It is a great hymn and to understand the depths of the cry of the heart out of which the words were birthed you need to know something about the guy who wrote it. Here is a youtube video about him.

Eternity
I have been thinking a lot about eternity recently.
Do you know that for those of you who are Christians all is well with your soul today? (For those who do not know this is an old hymn click here to hear it.) God has our lives in his eternal hands safe and secure. He has paid fully for our souls - he has brought us into full freedom and health.
God is sat in eternal splendour on the throne today. Whatever challenges you face his rule has no limits and no boundaries. Did you realise that all the times you obey God you build something for eternity. He has chosen to use us in his eternal plan for mankind that he thought out even before the earth was created. Our names were known to him and he called us even way back before time began.
When time ends and we move into the eternal realms of heaven we will see with our eyes all that our hearts held in faith on the earth. We will see Jesus. We will see the angels, the elders and all those who have gone before us. Our eyes will actually behold the glory of the God. He will fill our minds and our hearts with his splendour and yet be as a friend to us. Eternity will then be a reality to us.Â

Safer Internet Day
Today is Safer Internet Day. An International Event to promote responsible use of the internet and mobile phones. This is a good site that raises awareness of the dangers and issues about the internet. It would be worth having a look at it - it may help you with how you use the web. Â (click on the logo)

Your problem verse!!
Tee hee it was fun wasn’t it.
Yes you are right - I did put the wrong reference. It is from Jeremiah 27:2. The New Living puts it like this: This is what the Lord said to me: “Make a yoke, and fasten it on your neck with leather thongs.
God was asking Jeremiah to make a yoke (a piece of wood for attaching oxen together to plough a field or pull a cart) to use it as a demonstration to his prophetic word. I love the way God asks Jeremiah to do things to show by pictures what he means - the linen girdle he had to bury and dig up (13:1-7), going down to the potter’s house (18:1-5) and putting deeds in a bottle (32: 14) among others.
God wanted Jeremiah to tell the people of Moab, Ammonites, Tyre, Sidon and Judah that they would serve Nebuchadnezzar, he would rule over them all. The prophecy all came true.

I am not sure I understand!!!
I am reading through Jeremiah at the minute and have come across this strange verse. I am not sure I understand it and have all sorts of visions flying around my head - please can you help! The verse is Jer ch23:2. Thus says the Lord “Make for yourself thongs and yolk bars and put them on your neck”.
Are yoke bars like eggy mars bars? Did God really have the people inventing new underwear to hang around their necks?
Whoever said the bible was boring!!!

FULL TO THE BRIM
Ephesians 1:23
the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
God by his very nature fills everything. His desire is not that you walk around feeling empty, loney, powerless or flat. It is not God who is not filling - he will fill everything whenever he gets the chance. If he is waiting to fill so eagerly then why do we become dry? Well there is only one answer - it must be us.
God is not like a petrol station that you can come now and again and fill yourself up at the God pump. He is a Father who is building a relationship with us. It takes time and sharing of heart, it takes study in the bible, it takes time worshipping and adoring him, it takes intimacy and obedience.
God is wanting to fill you with all you need everyday - be open and give him time to flood your life with himself.

FULL TO THE TOP
When I read the stories of Jesus I see an abundant fullness in everything he does. When the fishemen had been fishing all night and Jesus says cast the nets on the other side the fishermans net was full to bursting (John 21:8). When there was no wine left at the wedding Jesus filled the stone jars to the brim with wine (John 2:7). When five thousand men with their wives and children had no food Jesus gave them so much to eat that there were twelve baskets full of leftovers (John 6:13). Jesus never did half a miracle, or gave in just miserly handfulls.
God’s design was to fill the earth (Genesis 1:22), his heart is that the earth be filled with the knowlege of himself (Habakuk 2:14). The earth is already filled with his glory (Numbers 14:21) and full of his love (Psalms 119:64) so that the church fills the earth (Daniel 2:35), that God’s people recieve the full rights of sonship (Gal 4:5). His plan is that we should be full of the Holy Spirit (Acts 11:24), full of righteousness (Proverbs 4:18), full of understanding (Philemon 1:6), that we have the fullness of the measure of the blessing of Jesus (Romans 15:29).
God is a God who fills. Don’t ever be happy with second best or things being half full. Expect a fullness in your life - for that is the heart of God.

God deals not with length of time, but quality of life.

Praise God for the simple things!!
Â
Â
I have been thinking how the small things in life are so enjoyable. Today I was drinking hot chocolate on a hill after having a snowball fight. It was great - not expensive, introduced with a huge amount of hype or needing batteries. The simple things are the best like warm bread with melted butter, fresh bed sheets, a warm towel, a hug, a smile or a cup of fresh coffee with friends. What about you - what do you enjoy?Â
