There has been an uproar in the land of beauty queens by a lady who did not say the politically correct thing just to win. Carrie Prejean stood by her own convictions and family values in a polite and non- offensive way. She is presently Miss California and was in the running for Miss USA. She had a very good chance to win it until she was asked her opinion on same sex marriages. Fame and winning did not mean as much to her as being true to her faith and her God. A new piece of research shows that 85% of young men think that newspapers give them a bad image and four in five think that adults are more wary of them than they were a year ago because of it. On top of this boys who were surveyed (13-19) also say that negative media stories about ‘yobs’ and ‘hoodies’ make them more wary of other young men.

 If you think about all the media talk about knives, drinking, teenage pregnancy, hoodies, thugs, feral, louts, threatening, gangs and guns it all puts the youth of Britain in a negative light. Are all youth so bad or is it just a handful of baduns who capture everyone’s attention by their bad behaviour?

If you would like to influence the House of Lords with your personal view there is a competition running on the topic of negative media coverage. Raw deal or Truth Told? is looking for the views of young people on the way they are protrayed in the media. The winner will get to discuss their entry with the House of Lords ‘Communications Committee’. All the entries will influence a report to be presented to the committee.

Entries need to be recieved by 15th May.

In the search for excitment one man built his own roller coaster in his back garden!! Watch this!

We had a fantastic time in Florida. The villa was fab, the weather gorgeous and the rides and shows at the parks were so much fun. Even through the midst of it all I sat back and thought that it didn’t even touch the excitment I feel in times of worship when I know the Spirit is moving, or the adventure of walking down the street and the Holy Spirit asking me to do something I never set out to do. This life with God really is an adventure - it really is exciting.

Hello Everyone

Sorry for the lack of writing - I have been ill in bed!! Rubbish!!

I am however going to Florida with my family today for two weeks - so I will see you all when I get back.
